ASPHALT EXPANSION JOINTS
A waterproof expansion joint that is the basic joint for almost every type of installation...offers low initial cost, great
durability, and is self-sealing. Available in thicknesses of 1/4”, 3/8”, 1/2”, 3/4”, an d 1”. Slabs available in 36” and
48” widths and standard lengths of 5’, 6’, and 10’. Pre-cut joints available in any desired uniform widths and
standard lengths. Curb and gutter sections and other special shapes and punching for dowels available. Approx. weight: 3 lbs. per square foot based on 1/2” thickness. Meets ASTM D-994-53 and AASHTO M 33-48.
FIBRE EXPANSION JOINTS
Suggested for use on highways, airport runways, and other similar installations where the joint can be sealed
with a rubber asphalt joint seal. Available in thicknesses of 1/4”, 3/8", 1/2”, 3/4”, and 1” . Slabs available in 5’, 10’,
11’, 12’, and 12’6” lengths. Pre-cut in uniform widths and lengths as desired. Special shapes and punching are
available. Approximate weight is 1.4 lbs. per square foot based on 1/2” thickness. Meets ASTM D-1751-65;
Federal HH-F-341c, Type 1 and AASHTO M 153-54, Type 3.
CERAMAR EXPANSION JOINTS
Composed of a unique blend of isomeric polymers in a very small, closed-cell structure. Gray in color, Ceramar
is a lightweight, highly flexible and resilient material offering recovery qualities of over 99%. This mini closed-cell
structure is virtually non-absorbent. It can be wrapped or formed around curved or circular surfaces. Available in
thicknesses of 1/4”, 3/8”, 1/2”, 3/4”, and 1”. Slabs available in 48” widths and standard lengths of 10’. Meets
ASTM D 1752.
GRAY SPONGE RUBBER EXPANSION JOINTS
Ideal for use where joint is visually exposed and complete resiliency is essential...fully compressible with
recovery rate of 95% or more of original thickness. Sizes: thicknesses of 1/4” ,3/8”,1/2” 5/8”, 3/4”, and 1”, widths
2” to 48”, and lengths of 5’ and 10’. Approximate weight is 1.85 lbs. per square foot based on 1/2” thickness.
Meets ASTM D-1752-601, Type 1 Federal HH F 341c, Type 2, Class A, and AASHTO M 153-54, Type 1.
CORK EXPANSION JOINTS
Molded of selected cork granules with a resin binder. Use where it is essential that joints are kept filled at all
times, such as in sewage plants, flood walls, filtration plants, etc. Resilient, will compress without extrusion and
recover to 95% of original thickness. Sizes: thickness, 1/4”, 3/8”, 1/2”, 3/4”, and 1”; widths 2” to 36”; and lengths
of 5’ and 10’. Meets ASTM D-1752-60T, Type 2; Federal HH-F-341c, Type 2, Class B.
SELF-EXPANDING CORK EXPANSION JOINTS
Formed and compressed under heat and pressure to permit expansion up to 140% of original thickness after
installation which permits the filler to compensate for concrete shrinkage. Normal humidity conditions after
installation activate the self-expanding properties of the cork. Sizes: thicknesses, 1/2”, 3/4”, and 1”. Meets ASTM
D-1752-601, Type 3; Federal HH-F-341c, Type 2, Class C; AASHTO M-153-54, Type 3.
